“I will climb up to my watchtower
and stand at my guardpost. There I will wait to see what the LORD says and how
he will answer my complaint.”
Habakkuk 2:1 ESV
Are you watching for Revival? Are you praying for Revival?
Are you frustrated because you seek revival for the world but see no evidence?
Are you at your wit’s end crying out to God but not seeing the revival you so
desperately desire?
Habakkuk knew those frustrations. He saw sin everywhere
around him. He saw people who were far away from God and it broke his heart.
With this broken heart he boldly and confidently took his questions and
complaints to God.
Habakkuk had reached the point of desperation. Have you
reached that point of desperation? Are you crying out in prayer sharing your
concerns with God? Have you turned them over to him?
Go to your “watchtower”, get alone with God, remove any
distractions you may have, and cry out to God.
And then…wait. Wait patiently. In Acts 1:7 Jesus says, “It
is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority.”
God’s timing is perfect, he knows what must happen in order for His Glory to be
shown. We are not to force the issue. But we are to earnestly pray and watch.
And then…watch His Glory be revealed as He rends the
heavens, the mountains tremble before Him and He brings Revival to our land.
Dear
Lord, take us to our watchtower. May we stand on guard and pray earnestly on
our knees as we cry out for Revival. Help us to wait patiently on You to reveal
Your Glory through Revival of our land. In Your Name We Pray, Amen.
