Just Give Me Jesus Augusta - The Way of Revival part 2

“Prepare the way for the Lord,
make straight paths for him.
Every valley shall be filled in,
Every mountain and hill made low.
The crooked roads shall become straight,
the rough ways smooth.
And all mankind will see God’s salvation.”
Luke 3:4-6
Last week we studied John the Baptist’s “Challenge to Revival”, discussed by Stephen Olford in his book Heart Cry for Revival. This week we will look at the conditions needed for revival.
“Every valley shall be filled in,…”
“Valleys are depressions and divisions in the earth’s surface, and as such symbolize aspects of defeat in the believer’s life.”
Do you have depressions and divisions in your life? Do you harbor resentment, bitterness & jealousy? Are you moody and easily lose your temper? Are you exclusive in your friendships or relationships within your church?
These are all depressions and divisions in your life which can be filled by the Holy Spirit, “…Instead, be filled with the Spirit” Ephesians 5:18. “It is only when the Holy Spirit fills the life of a believer that the depressions are mastered and the divisions are mended.”
“Every mountain and hill made low.”
Do you have mountains of disbelief that keep you from experiencing God’s blessings? In Matthew 17:20 Jesus tells us “Because you have so little faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain. ‘Move from here to there’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” We must have the faith to trust God will do what He says He will do. He is a mighty and powerful God!
“The crooked roads shall become straight,…”
We must search our lives and face our dishonesties.
·      “…dishonesty of lying …how many times a day do you lie in thought, word or deed?”
·      “…dishonesty of hypocrisy – pretending to be what you are not in your prayer, confession, testimony and life.”
·      “…dishonesty of robbing God of energy, by means of misspent money and squandered hours.”

“…the rough ways smooth.”
“Is your personal life out of place or out of adjustment with the will of God?”
·      What are you like when no one else is looking? Is your family life in line with God’s desires?
·      Are you in line with God’s will in your church life? Are you faithfully serving where God has called you? Are you in harmony with fellow Christians?
·      Does your social life honor God?
·      Are you ethically following God in your work life?
“Until you get right with God He will neither hear you nor bless you.” What adjustments do you need to make in order to get right with God? Jesus tells us in Revelation 2:5 “Remember the height from which you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first.”
“And all mankind will see God’s salvation.”
When we have fully prepared ourselves our eyes will see God’s salvation. When the conditions are filled God will show us His vision for the whole word to receive His over-flowing blessing of the “Lord Jesus Christ Himself”.
“Revival is ultimately Christ Himself, seen, felt, heard, living, active, moving in and through His Body, the Church on earth.”
We invite you to join us for Just Give Me Jesus Augusta led by Anne Graham Lotz on September 21 & 22 at the James Brown Arena in Augusta Georgia.
