Jesus cried out to God...

“An angel from heaven appeared to him and strengthened him.” Luke 22:43

It was a cool, dark quiet night as Jesus sat – alone - in the garden. No one was awake. Those He loved most had drifted off to sleep but not Him, not Jesus. He was awake, kneeling, pleading with God, “Abba, Father…everything is possible for you. Take this cup from me…” Mark 14:36. He laid His pain, His hurt, and His very life out before God and cried not my will but yours God.

And yet, at Jesus’ darkest hour God was with Him. He loved Him so much He sent an angel from heaven to strengthen Jesus.

In your darkest hour do you cry out to God? Do you cry out from the deepest parts of you for God to take your grief, your pain, and your hurt away?

Do you kneel before Him praying, asking Him to give you the strength to make it one more day, to take the pain of defeat away, to ease the pain of rejection and scorn, to remove the illness causing the sleepless nights?

Oh that you will go to Him like Jesus, in the dark quiet night and feel the strengthening power of His angels, His Holy Spirit, His Presence.

Lord we kneel before you, begging you to give us the strength we need to face the difficulties before us. Lord may we feel your loving presence guide and comfort us. May we experience your peace that passes all understanding so that our hearts will be revived in you. In Your Name We Pray, Amen.
